Who is operating terrorism in Pakistan?
Pakistan's army is in the field to deal with terrorism, but why are political parties lagging behind?
Is ISIS, the Afghan Taliban, or the banned TTP behind the recent terrorism?
In recent weeks, the terrorism of Fitna al-khawaraj has intensified in the border areas of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The latest incident was the attack on Bannu cantonment on March 5, which was bravely thwarted by army personnel. In the attack, two explosive-laden vehicles were rammed by suicide bombers into the cantonment wall, killing 13 civilians, including five soldiers, and injuring 32. 16 (all) terrorists were killed during the security forces’ operation. The civilian casualties in this incident included residents of a house and people in a nearby mosque who were breaking their fast. Some of the most severe attacks and explosions of this type have taken place in Bannu before. In July 2024, a suicide bomber rammed an explosive-laden vehicle through the main gate of a supply depot, killing eight soldiers and three civilians. In December 2022, two civilians were killed in an explosion and firing incident in Bannu Cantonment, in addition to which there have been attacks on police buildings and personnel.
The Army Chief said that the armed forces will spare no effort to protect and ensure the security of their people and will continue to be a shield against terrorism to ensure the security and stability of the state. In the light of the Army Chief’s determination and thoughts against terrorism, it is evident that the officers and men of the Pakistan Army have stood firm in the face of terrorists from the very beginning for the defense of the beloved homeland and national security. In such wars, it has been the practice of some foreign armies to annihilate the entire population wherever they see an attack.
But the Pakistan Army has completely changed this war tradition, in which its intelligence agencies have played an unparalleled role and demonstrated their highest professional skills in front of others. The arrest of ISIS commander Sharifullah is an example of this.
The weapons used in terrorism that Army Chief General Asim Munir mentioned during his visit to Bannu cantonment are linked to the weapons being dropped by the US and other NATO countries in Afghanistan. Their masters in Afghanistan are involved in delivering these weapons to the Fatna al-Kharij. In this situation, Pakistan is fully playing the role it should play.
However, along with the recent army operation, providing political support at the government level and taking other political parties along is also an inevitable requirement of the situation.
On the other hand , US President Donald Trump, CIA Director and the US military, including the leadership of the Defense Department, have praised Pakistan for the arrest of the ISIS commander. But at the same time, news of imposing travel restrictions on Pakistan is also circulating, will Pakistan be treated like Afghanistan now? Instead of learning from its mistakes, America has always talked about do more. Pakistan, which has always sacrificed its lives in the War on Terror and played the role of a frontline state, has always dealt with difficulties alone. Be it a bad economic situation or lives lost as a result of terrorism. Now let's see how much America supports Pakistan.
