The main reason for which is said to be the outdated and old police system, for example, even today, the petrol given to the police for patrolling is the same as it was many years ago, while the city and population have increased enormously. Resources and the number of police stations have not been increased while the population has increased enormously. According to the number of policemen posted in police stations, there is one policeman for every 3000 people. So you can guess for yourself how they can stop the crime. It is not that our police are incompetent, but the flaws of the system make them incompetent, due to which they are unable to perform properly. It is high time that police as well as other agencies have to make joint and coordinated efforts with the police to make the twin cities ideal and crime free.
