  ملتانی سرائیکی کے مشہور اور ہر دل عزیز شاعرشاکر شجاع آبادی انتقال کر گئیے ان کا اصل نام محمد شفیع ہے اور تخلص شاکرؔ رہا ہے، شجاع آباد کی نسبت سے شاکر شجاع آبادی کے نام سے مشہور تھے۔ شاکر شجاع آبادی کی پیدائش 25 فروری 1954ء کو شجاع آباد کے ایک چھوٹے سے گاوٗں راجہ رام میں ہوئی جو ملتان سے ستر 70 کلومیٹر کے فاصلے پر ہے۔ گزشتہ کئی سالوں سے وہ سرائیکی کے مظلوم عوام کے دلوں کی آواز بنے ہوئے ہیں۔ وہ خود بولنے کی صلاحیت سے محروم تھے لیکن انہوں نے سرائیکی عوام کی محرومیوں کو اجاگر کر کے ان کو جذبات کی عکاسی کے لیے زبان دی ۔ وہ 1986 سے باقاعدہ شاعری کر رہے تھے۔ نصابی تعلیم نہ ہونے کی وجہ سے وہ کتابیں نہیں پڑھ سکے۔۔ ان کا شاعری سے متعلق تمام علم ریڈیو پروگراموں کا مرہون منت رہا ہے۔ غلام فرید اور وارث شاہ کو انھوں نے بہت سنا۔ وہ کہتے ہیں تھےکہ ‘‘میرا مسئلہ صرف سرائیکی وسیب نہیں ہے بلکہ میں پوری دنیا کے مظلوم لوگوں کی بات کرتا ہوں چاہے کوئی کافر ہی کیوں نہ ہو۔’’ 1994 تک بول سکتے تھے۔۔ اس کے بعد فالج کا حملہ ہوا جس کے باعث ٹھیک طور پر بولنے سے قاصر ہو گئیے اور ان کا پوتا ان کی ترجمانی کرتا رہا...
